Stainless Steel Meets Rotating Design: The Thinking Behind Our Rotating Bowl

Stainless Steel Meets Rotating Design: The Thinking Behind Our Rotating Bowl

When we designed the Petorus Rotating Bowl, we had two goals: make it from the best material possible, and make it actually work.

Here's what that looks like in practice.

Food-Grade Stainless Steel

We chose food-grade stainless steel for its surface properties. It's non-porous, so bacteria and odors don't build up between washes. It handles the dishwasher without degrading. And it doesn't require any special care — just rinse, wash, and it's ready for the next meal.

It's the same standard used in professional kitchens, applied to something your dog uses every day.

The Rotating Base

The bowl sits on a rotating base — and that's where things get interesting.

As your dog eats, the bowl naturally turns with their movement. This means they can't just push the bowl into a corner and eat around the ridges. They have to keep engaging with the maze, which slows them down consistently throughout the meal — not just at the start.

It also means less frustration for dogs who tend to flip or chase their bowl across the floor.

Why Both Together

A slow feeder works best when it's easy to clean and hard to game. The stainless steel makes cleaning effortless. The rotating base makes the slow-feeding function harder to bypass. Together, they make for a mealtime that's calmer, safer, and more consistent.
